While the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products pose slight or absolutely no threat, dozens have been linked to significant health problems, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals can enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in water, food, and many other commonly used goods. Yet, no group of consumer goods is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Lip Palette Vol.1 (Shade Primary 1). Although many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics likely pose little risk, being exposed to a few is linked to critical health problems, including cancer.
