While the majority of chemicals in beauty products present slight or no threat, several dozen are associated to serious health conditions, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer can be found in food and many other ordinary items. However, no classification of consumer items is susceptible to less government management than cosmetics and other personal products, including Lip Palette Vol.1 (Shade 11). Although most of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics almost certainly pose minimal risk, subjection to a few is linked to significant health problems, such as cancer.
