Although many chemicals in cosmetic products pose limited or no risk, several dozen have been linked to significant health problems, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other ordinary goods.
