While the majority of chemicals in beauty products present very little or no risk, some have been associated to substantial medical conditions, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and cause the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer can be found in food and several other ordinary products. However, no group of consumer products is susceptible to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Stick Foundation (Fawn).
