While most chemicals in cosmetic products present very little or absolutely no threat, several dozen have been linked with considerable health conditions, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and pose similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and several other common items. But, no classification of consumer items is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics, including Refill Eyeshadow (Shade Gleam). Although most of the chemicals in cosmetics almost certainly present very little risk, subjection to some is linked to worrying health concerns, including cancer.
