Although most chemicals in cosmetic products present very little or zero danger, several dozen are associated to significant health issues, such as developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and pose the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food and lots of other common goods. Yet, no classification of consumer goods is accountable to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Modern Renaissance (Shade Venetian Red). While many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics almost certainly present very little risk, exposure to some has been linked to serious health concerns, including cancer.
