Although many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose limited or zero risk, several dozen are linked to substantial health problems, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and a lot of other common items. Still, no area of consumer items is accountable to less government inspection than cosmetics, including Sun Glow Eyebalm #2.
