Although many chemicals in cosmetics pose very little or zero danger, several are linked to significant health issues, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food and lots of other common products.
