Though most chemicals in cosmetic products pose slight or absolutely no risk, several are linked with serious health issues, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.
