Though the majority of chemicals in beauty products pose minimal or absolutely no danger, dozens are associated with substantial health problems, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food, water, and a lot of other everyday items. But, no category of consumer items is susceptible to less government inspection than cosmetics, including JELLO PACT #23. Although most of the chemicals in cosmetics probably present very little risk, subjection to some has been associated with critical health concerns, including cancer.
