Although many chemicals in cosmetics pose limited or no risk, several dozen are linked with substantial health issues, such as developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through the skin and inhalation, and cause similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in food and many other commonly used products. Yet, no classification of consumer products is accountable to less government direction than cosmetics, including MONO EYES #69 (MAGENTA).
