Though most chemicals in cosmetic products present slight or zero risk, several dozen are associated to substantial medical problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and various other commonly used items. But, no group of consumer items is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics, including STAMPING LIP TINT #6 [PEACH BLOOM] (lower). Though many of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics almost certainly present very little risk, exposure to a few is linked to worrying health problems, such as cancer.
