Though most chemicals in cosmetic products pose limited or no risk, several have been linked to serious health conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics gain entry to the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in water, food, and a lot of other common items. Still, no area of consumer items is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Big & False Lash Volume Mascara (all shades). Although most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics almost certainly present very little risk, being exposed to some is associated with substantial health disorders, including cancer.
