Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food, water, and many other commonly used items. However, no category of consumer items is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics, including colored clay eyeshadow. Although most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products in all likelihood pose very little risk, being exposed to some is associated with worrying health conditions, including cancer.
