Though many chemicals in cosmetics pose limited or absolutely no risk, several dozen are linked to significant medical problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals enter a person's body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and pose the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and several other everyday items. But, no type of consumer items is susceptible to less government management than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Eye Shadow (Indigo). While most of the chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products almost certainly pose little risk, subjection to a few has been associated with critical health concerns, including cancer.
