While the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present very little or zero threat, several have been associated with significant health conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other commonly used products. Yet, no sector of consumer products is accountable to less government management than cosmetics, including Blush (Berry). While many of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products probably present very little risk, subjection to some is linked to worrying health problems, including cancer.
