While many chemicals in cosmetic products pose little or zero threat, several have been linked to severe health issues, such as neurological harm and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer can be found in water, food, and lots of other ordinary items. Still, no type of consumer items is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Blush (Apricot). While most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics probably pose very little risk, exposure to a few is associated with substantial health disorders, such as cancer.
