Though the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products present slight or absolutely no risk, several dozen are associated to serious health conditions, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and pose similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer can be found in food and lots of other ordinary products. But, no classification of consumer products is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Color Guard. Though many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics very likely pose little risk, being exposed to a few has been associated with substantial health disorders, including cancer.
