Although many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present slight or zero risk, several dozen are associated to significant health conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals can enter the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food and various other commonly used items.
