Though the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products present little or absolutely no danger, dozens are linked to severe health conditions, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food and many other commonly used goods. Still, no group of consumer goods is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Lip Gloss (Just a Fling).
