Though many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present slight or no risk, several have been associated to considerable medical problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food and many other ordinary products.
