While many chemicals in cosmetics present limited or absolutely no threat, several have been associated to considerable medical problems, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.
