While the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present little or no threat, several dozen are associated to serious health problems, such as developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics invade the body through the skin and inhalation, and cause the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and many other ordinary products. But, no group of consumer products is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics, including Lip Gloss (My Boo).
