Though many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present hardly any or zero risk, several have been associated with significant medical problems, such as neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals get into the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in water, food, and various other common items.
