While many chemicals in beauty products present very little or absolutely no risk, several are linked with substantial medical issues, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer are found in water, food, and lots of other ordinary products. Yet, no classification of consumer products is subject to less government direction than cosmetics, including Lip Gloss (FLAB-0048). While many of the chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products almost certainly pose little risk, subjection to some has been linked to critical health conditions, including cancer.
