Though the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products present very little or zero danger, several have been linked with considerable health conditions, such as developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food and lots of other commonly used products.
