While many chemicals in beauty products present slight or zero risk, some are associated to significant health conditions, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and pose the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and many other everyday products.
