While many chemicals in cosmetic products present little or zero danger, dozens have been linked with severe medical conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer are found in food and various other everyday items. Yet, no sector of consumer items is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Eyeshadow (FEIA-0075).
