Though the majority of chemicals in cosmetics pose very little or zero risk, several have been associated to substantial medical conditions, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter a person's body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in water, food, and various other ordinary goods.
