Though many chemicals in cosmetics present little or no threat, several dozen are linked to substantial health problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and pose the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and a lot of other ordinary products. However, no category of consumer products is subject to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Eyeshadow (Bobbi Trio3-2).
