While the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products present slight or no danger, several are associated with substantial medical conditions, such as developmental delays and cancer. Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and several other commonly used products. Yet, no sector of consumer products is susceptible to less government management than cosmetics, including Eyeshadow (#12). Although many of the chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products very likely present minimal risk, exposure to some is linked to critical health issues, such as cancer.
