Though the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present very little or absolutely no risk, some have been linked to substantial medical issues, including neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and many other everyday items. Still, no classification of consumer items is subject to less government management than cosmetics and other personal products, including Eyeshadow (F-108).
