While many chemicals in cosmetic products present limited or zero risk, dozens have been associated to severe medical conditions, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through the skin and inhalation, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.
