Although most chemicals in cosmetic products pose minimal or absolutely no risk, several dozen are linked to significant health problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and various other commonly used goods. Yet, no category of consumer goods is subject to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Lip Gloss (Boy Bait).
