Although the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present little or no risk, several dozen are linked to significant medical issues, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics invade a person's body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and cause the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer can be found in water, food, and many other commonly used products. But, no group of consumer products is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics, including Lip Gloss (Blizzard).
