Though the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present limited or zero threat, some have been associated with significant medical problems, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in food and many other everyday products. But, no classification of consumer products is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics, including Lipgloss (Barbie Pink Shade). Though many of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics in all likelihood pose minimal risk, being exposed to a few has been linked to serious health disorders, including cancer.
