While the majority of chemicals in beauty products present little or absolutely no threat, some have been linked to significant health conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics invade the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and a lot of other everyday goods.
