While many chemicals in beauty products pose slight or zero danger, dozens have been linked with substantial health problems, such as developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other ordinary goods.
