While most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose very little or no risk, several have been linked with substantial medical problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and lead to the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer can be found in water, food, and various other everyday products.
