Although the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products present limited or no risk, several dozen are linked with substantial medical conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics invade a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and various other commonly used products.
