Though most chemicals in cosmetics present little or no danger, several have been associated to significant health problems, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals get into the body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Yet, no kind of consumer products is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics, including Super Ultra Violet. While many of the chemicals in cosmetics in all likelihood pose little risk, being exposed to a few is linked to critical health problems, including cancer.
