While most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present slight or no risk, several dozen have been associated with severe health conditions, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer are found in water, food, and lots of other commonly used items. But, no category of consumer items is subject to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Carnaval Hangover.
