Although most chemicals in cosmetics pose limited or absolutely no danger, several dozen are associated to serious medical issues, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals get into the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.
