Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and cause similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in food, water, and several other common products. Still, no classification of consumer products is accountable to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Concealer (3.5 shade). Though most of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics and personal care products likely present little risk, being exposed to a few has been linked to major health issues, such as cancer.
