While many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose hardly any or zero risk, several have been linked with significant health problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food and many other ordinary products. However, no category of consumer products is accountable to less government inspection than cosmetics, including Concealer (1.5 shade). Although most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products most likely present very little risk, subjection to some has been linked to significant health issues, such as cancer.
