While the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products pose little or absolutely no risk, dozens have been linked to significant health problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals can enter a person's body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and cause the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food and lots of other commonly used products.
