Though many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose limited or zero danger, several dozen are linked with serious health problems, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals can enter the body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other everyday products.
