Though most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose minimal or no danger, several dozen have been associated with severe health problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals invade a person's body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and pose similar dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and lots of other ordinary items.
