Though most chemicals in beauty products present very little or absolutely no threat, some are associated to considerable health problems, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and many other commonly used products. Yet, no classification of consumer products is subject to less government direction than cosmetics, including Eyeshadow Refill (10K shade).
