Chemicals in cosmetics gain entry to the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and pose the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food and lots of other common products. But, no category of consumer products is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including Waterproof Creme Color (Gunmetal shade).
