While many chemicals in cosmetics pose limited or zero danger, dozens have been linked to serious medical conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and many other common products. Yet, no type of consumer products is accountable to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal care products, including Dipbrow Pomade (Ebony shade). While most of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics and personal care products probably pose little risk, being exposed to a few is associated with critical health conditions, such as cancer.
